I'm trying to link my camera's point of interest to a 3d null wile also linking it to a second null for more rotation control. I've been using the expression pick whip to link my point of interest to the null. This seems to work, but as soon as I link my camera to another null my position in 3d space goes haywire and can not be corrected. How can I fix this problem. I'm new to expressiones and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You should be able to link the POI of the camera to one 3D null, and the camera's position to another 3D null, without any problem. Try it on a new camera in a separate composition, I'm sure you can get it to work if you make a fresh start.

Thanks Jonas, but it still doesn't work. Could you take me through the process step by step? Thanks!

1. Create two nulls and name them "Camera position" and "Camera POI".
2. Mark both and switch them to 3D layers.
3. Hit the letter P on your keyboard.
4. Create a new camera.
5. Twirl down the Camera until you see the "Position" and "Point of Interest" properties.
6. Alt-click (Opt-click on Mac) the stopwatch on the camera's Position property and then drag the pickwhip from the Position of the camera to the Position property of the appropriate null.
7. Do the same thing for the POI property.
8. Animate away!
